Kimberly Ann Overson Hafen, age 45, passed away suddenly from a cerebral vascular accident, Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born November 15, 1966 in Los Angeles, California to Michael O’Donnal and Glenda Sharon Lott Overson. On July 1, 1988 she married Maxwell Derek Hafen in the St. George LDS Temple. Kim grew up in Moapa Valley. She developed a love for animals, participating in 4-H and high school rodeo. She raised her family in Mesquite, Nevada, where this passion for horses, ranching and rodeo became a family affair. Recently, they relocated to Washington, Utah. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and loved going to girls camp. She will be remembered for her strength, care, compassion and courage. Survivors include her husband, Derek, three sons and two daughters: Jade Derek, serving an LDS mission in San Juan Puerto Rico; Kyna Ann, Garret Maxwell, Fallen Ila, Trey Derek, all of Washington, UT; father, Mike Overson of Overton, NV; four brothers: Todd of Las Vegas, NV; Aric (Miriam) of St. George, UT; Cord (LeAnn) of Las Vegas, NV and Seth (Erica) of Layton, Utah. She was preceded in death by one son, Maxwell Cody and by her mother, Glenda Newman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11a.m. (Utah) at the Washington Fields 3rd Ward Chapel, 1835 Washington Fields Road, Washington, Utah. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 6 - 8 p.m., a visitation will be in the Mesquite LDS Whipple Chapel. Interment will be at 1 p.m. (Nevada) in the Mesquite City Cemetery under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, 702 346-6060.
