Charlie was an amazing man. He had a total belief that the mind controls everything we do. In his last months he felt lonely and discouraged at times. But he said he could "flip a switch" in his mind and make his day bright again. Charlie was on the aircraft carrier WASP in WWII when it was sunk. In our last visit with him, at age 97, he brought out his tablet and googled the WASP and pointed to the spot on the flight deck where he jumped into the water after the Japanese torpedo hit. He loved his family and friends. We will miss him and honor his memory. We were proud to call him brother and friend.
