Welcome to the memorial page for

Gentry Bradley

October 14, 1943 ~ August 28, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Gentry (Rap) Bradley departed August 28, 2017 after a long battle with illness.  He was born at home, October 14, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to the union of Clifton and Alma (Graves) Bradley.  He was the fifth of six children, 4 brothers (deceased) and one sister (deceased).
Gentry met Dorothy Bertrand.  To this union was born Jeffery Bradley.  He met and married Jo Ann Robertson (Rozier).   To this union was born Cindy, Tracy and Rap.  On October 12, 1996, Gentry married a blessing sent by God, Jaqueline (Henry Bassett).  Through this union, his love was extended to Santee II, Sandra, and Quentin Bassett.
His family moved to Los Angeles, CA when he was a teenager where he graduated from Freemont High and completed his trade in engineering at LA City College. May 2006, he retired from Los Angeles County Department of Public Works Survey Division.
Gentry had a passion for singing Doo Wop.  He loved to perform and created numerous records over the years.  Let him tell it, he was a STAR.  If he wasn’t singing, he was snapping photos.  He was an excellent tour guide and of course he knew everything.   This really gave him a chance to get out and sharpen his photography skills.  As a child, he dreamed of having a train set.  After retirement, he bought and created his own train world where he spent a lot of his time operating.
You couldn’t tell Gentry he didn’t look good.  He would say, ‘Don’t touch me because you may get cut”.  He was sharp as a tack.  Although he was not the biggest fan of going to church, you best believe, he knew the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Jacqueline Bradley, four sons; Jeffery and Gentry Bradley, Santee II and Quentin Bassett; three daughters Cynthia and Tracy Bradley, and Sandra Bassett; five sisters in love, Louis Sparks, Loreese Cain, Vernice Gilmore, Rosetta Richards (William) and Bernitha Whaley (Everett); one brother and siter-in-law in love Mr. and Mrs. John Sparks; ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
