Paula,
We are SO sorry for your loss. We only knew Terry for a short time and we so enjoyed the company of both of you. Bowling was never the same without an encouraging word from Terry. He was fun to have a spirited conversation with! We enjoyed his company, conversation and warm acceptance..
Prayers be with you and your family.

One crosses paths with many but few leave a lasting impression. I think about Terry often and every time I walk into the Virgin River Bowling Alley I find myself looking for my friend in the faded ball cap with a little half smile and a twinkle in his eye. Terry never complained (unless he missed a 10 pin) but recently the look on his face spoke volumes. Terry no longer suffers, the hurt is left to the ones who cherished Terry’s friendship.
Terry will truly be missed.

40 Plus years ago, Terry purchased a 1968 Roadrunner , 383, 4spd from me. We been friends ever since. We worked hard, we played hard together for many many years. I'm kind of late posting because my kick in the stomach pain won't go away. My kitchen table is still full of pictures of the old times. I love Terry and Paula like family. I am praying for you Paula, I can only imagine what you're going through. I wish Terry was still tearing the roads up in that Roadrunner.
Love You,
Charley

It has been several years since I have been a part of the family. But, I wanted to send my deepest condolences to Paula, Billy, Michelle and our kids, and the rest of the family. Terry was my second Dad for 12+ years. I enjoyed spending time riding 4-wheelers, bowling, hitting the buffet, and the look of "Are you serious?" on his face when I would yell bingo at the Virgin River. He took this less than a hack of a golfer out to some of the prettiest courses in Southern Nevada. I remember when he told me he had finally broken down and bought a Harley. The joy in his smile said it all. The time I spent with him, even the brief encounters over the past several years, will always be in my memories. RIP Terry.

With the deepest of sympathies,
Chris

Terry King believed in me and told me I could handle it. He did that before others had and continued to believe in me. To me Terry King will always be the calm cool and levelheaded Security Lieutenant who made all those hard decisions in the middle of the night at the Oasis. Ten years I worked as a Security Officer and in that time there was never a moment while I was dealing with some unruly guest, a medical issue, or whatever problem was happening where I didn't ask myself what would Lt. King have done.

The King Family,
I'll miss the smile, the drive and the constant pursuit of "never giving up." Terry was a private person with only a few words but once he lowered his shield he became that marvelous athletic competitor. I never heard the soft spoken man complain or critique others. That trait is a true believer in God. We need to learn from Terry's fight for life and be humble every time we snivel. Many of us are better because Terry was in our lives. The Merchant League will never be the same without Larry Ford and now Terry. Jan, Doug, Jeff, Dan, Steve, Ray, Willie, Max, Bob, Little John, Bruce are just a few of Terry's friends who will have a difficult time bowling or shooting the guns at Mesquite venues.
God Speed...................Eternal Life

My condolences to the friends and family of Terry King. Even though it's been years, I still remember the smile, the laughter, the friendship we had. I remember him being so ornery and full of life... I always considered Terry a good friend, and I will miss him...
Respectfully,
Jeffrey Thomas

I leave for the summer, but just heard from another bowler about the passing of Terry. First, my condolences to the family. Next, Respect is one of the first thoughts that come to mind when thinking of Terry. I had enormous respect for him because of the type of person he was. I know that same respect for him was a sentiment felt by other bowlers as well.
He was one of the best bowlers in Mesquite, but more importantly, he was viewed by everyone as an outstanding example of what a man and person should be in life! I was also always impressed with the way the treated other people and the great devotion he had for his wife
I would see Terry at bowling several times a week and knew he was battling cancer and undergoing chemo, but I never heard him complain once.
Yes, Terry was a tremendous human being, and while saddened to hear of his passing, I am very grateful I had the privilege of knowing him. He loved his family, his country, and if every person treated people the way Terry did, we could do away with law enforcement and the military.
Yes, it was an honor knowing Terry King!
