    Barbara Jo (Bobbie Jo) Whitmore, age 84, died Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She was born March 16, 1939 in Trinidad, Colorado to Joseph Bubnic and Barbara Ann McKeown.
    Barbara grew up in Trinidad, graduating from Trinidad High School in 1957. She lived in the majestic mountains of Colorado with her beloved parents, before moving to the dusty dry desert of Moapa Valley, Nevada  in 1957.  Here she raised her 5 children. She was the Matriarch of her family and continued to be a great influence on her posterity throughout her life.  She worked at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado in the laundry room; as a cashier at a bookstore in Utah;  she worked at the Marriage License Bureau in Las Vegas before having a fulfilling career at Overton Power District until she retired. She enjoyed scrap booking, ceramics and cooking for her family, friends and gatherings.  Always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed serving every calling in the Relief Society, especially teaching. She will be remembered as a strong woman of faith and for her love of family and others.
    Survivors include two sons and two daughters: Leland “Rocky” (Teri) of Overton, NV; Joseph of Moapa, NV; Teej Spurr of Henderson, NV; Wendy Zazueta of Las Vegas, NV; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and one sister, Kathy Whitmore of Logandale, NV.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Ozaki.
    Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Logandale Chapel, 3245 North Moapa Valley Boulevard, Logandale, NV.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 19 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the Logandale Stake Center.  Interment will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Overton, Nevada.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
