Dee Walden Obituary

Dee Walden, longtime resident and teacher who relocated to Mesquite, Nevada passed away at his home with his family around him September 27, 2020.
Born in Livingston, Montana on April 21, 1941, graduate of Park City H.S. and Montana State University, married the love of his life, Alice Martin, on Jun 23, 1962. He was the Father of two children, San Dee Russell of Miles City, and Kevin Walden of San Diego, CA, and grandfather of four. He moved to Miles City and found his calling, teaching high school woodshop, carpentry, and engineering drawing at Custer County High School. Dee loved young people. He reached out to mentor many students who may not have graduated without his guidance. He retired and enjoyed continuing wood working in their business, Wool House Gallery. Upon the sale of that, they moved outside of Laurel, Montana for 7 years. Montana winters finally pushed them south to a little acreage nine miles out of Mesquite, Nevada in Scenic, Arizona. His many joys included old cars, remodeling houses, collecting stamps, remarkable finds at rummage sales, flea markets, and talking to anyone who shared his loves. Dee suffered a severe stroke in 2016 which left him physically disabled.
A memorial for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 1 - 4:00 p.m. at the home of San Dee Russell, 1101 North Montana Ave., in Mile City.
