Derek Newton

Derek Newton, age 80, died Monday, January 20, 2020 in Mesquite, Nevada.  He was born November 19, 1939 in Montreal, Canada.  He later became a naturalized US citizen.  On Aug. 11, 1965, he married Marion Patricia Kelly in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had two children and were later divorced.  On Mar. 28, 2004, he married Jacqueline Lee Williams in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She preceded him in death on March 22, 2018.
Derek grew up in Canada until at the age of ten his family relocated to Southern California.  After serving in the US Air Force, he raised his family in Southern California and Mississippi.  He served as a Fire Chief in Naches, Washington, finally settling in Mesquite, Nevada twelve years ago.  He enjoyed 4-Wheelin, traveling and working on his computers.  
Survivors include two sons: Darrell (Kimberly) of W. Salem, OH; David (Julie) of CA; two step sons: Larry (Vicki) Bond; Brad (Debbie) Bond both of Cela, WA; 12 grandchildren;  one great grandson and one sister Janice Elaine Stanton of Mesquite, NV.
