Dolores Johnson

Dolores Brown Johnson, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2020 in Orem, UT, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 21, 1929 in Electra, Wichita County, TX to Henry and Josephine Rebecca "Josie" Henderson Brown. She was the sixth of thirteen children. She grew up in Fairfield, Freestone Co., TX. She attended Sam Houston State College in Huntsville, TX getting a Bachelors Degree. She worked in the printing department, which is where she met her husband, Charles Robert "Bob" Johnson. They dated ninety-one days before being married on May 20, 1950 and they had four children. The family settled in El Paso, TX in 1957, living there until they moved to West Valley City, UT in the fall of 1978.

Dolores was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having joined the church in early 1956. She served many years as a Beehive leader. She filled many callings, including R.S. President. They moved to Overton, NV in January 2000, and this became home to them. Dolores taught first grade for many years. She also worked for the Freeman Institute, and the State of Utah.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Bob Johnson; her two daughters, Linda (Ron) Taylor and Rebecca Sue "Becky" (John) Jensen; daughter in law, Bonnie Johnson; her seventeen grandchildren; her fifty-three great-grandchildren (and one on the way), and one great-great- granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents and her children, Charles Douglas Johnson and Debra Kay (Kevin) Miner.
