Donald Edward Nowery

Donald Edward Nowery, 83, passed away on November 26, 2021 in his home in Overton, NV. Donald was born on December 28, 1937 in Beeville, TX to John Edward Nowery and Mary Inez Gattis. Donald’s family shortly moved to Shreeveport, LA and after graduating high school, he moved to Colorado for work. He met Anne Claire Matheny, and they were shortly married in Lakewood, CO on June 19, 1965. He worked as an Architect Draftsman for twenty years, drafting blueprints for residential and commercial buildings. During this time in Colorado, Donald and Anne adopted their son, Daniel. In the early 1990's, they moved to Overton, NV, where Donald opened Don Sharpening, where he would sharpen any tool or instrument with an edge. He loved to tinker and was a jack-of-all-trades. He also loved being in the outdoors, often shooting, fishing and camping. He had a great sense of humor, and loved drawing cartoons and being with others. He was a devout Catholic, and loved to serve in any capacity available to him. He was a man of faith.

Donald is survived by his wife, Anne Nowery; his son, Daniel (Amy) Nowery; his grandson, Riley J. Nowery; his siblings, Anne Tadvick and Robert (Linda) Nowery; and a large extended family.
