Dorothy R “Dottie” Donovan, age 77, died Monday, July 27, 2020 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada.  She was born November 19, 1942 in Anaconda, Montana to William Raymond and June Lenore Salvail Quane.  On June 12, 1965 she married William Joseph “Butch” Donovan in Anaconda.  He preceded her in death on December 10, 2012.

Dottie grew up in Anaconda, Montana.  She raised her family in Dillon, Montana.  The whole family was a big part of the community, especially the schools.  Butch was the football and wrestling coach, and a teacher.  A lifelong educator, Dottie’s passion for teaching led her through many schools across Montana, and eventually serving as the Beaverhead County Superintendent for 20 years. She and Butch retired to Mesquite, Nevada in 2008.   Dottie had a passion for others. She always welcomed anyone with an unforgettable smile. She loved time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She was very social and enjoyed great loyalty from friends both in Montana and Mesquite.
