Elaine was born on January 24, 1934 in Overton, Nevada, the seventh child of Anthony and Effie Easman (Huntsman) Perkins. Elaine grew up in Overton, Nevada, graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1952, and attended Dixie College in St. George, Utah. On July 13, 1954 she married Elmer LaVoy Waite in the St. George Utah Temple. Elaine and Elmer raised their five children in North Las Vegas, Nevada; Fairbanks, Alaska; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Logandale, Nevada. She will be remembered for being a strong matriarch, a friend, the soul of Cousin Capers, and a crafter.
