Harold E. Wittwer

Harold Edwin Wittwer, age 84, died September 10, 2020 in Cedar City, Utah. He was born February 13, 1936 in Bunkerville, Nevada to Merl Harmon and Elizabeth "Aunt Lib" Leavitt Wittwer. On May 30, 1956 he married Annita Russell in the St. George LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2012.

Harold grew up in Bunkerville. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from BYU in education. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. After a short time working in Las Vegas, he came back to Mesquite to raise his family and to coach, teach and finally work as an administrator at Virgin Valley High School. He enjoyed hunting in the mountains near his ranch in Acoma Nevada with his sons and as a hunting guide. He had horses like his father and ran them on the Mesa. Harold loved his dogs they were always by his side wherever he went. He loved sports, He loved to watch his sons, grandson’s, and granddaughters play. He also loved watching the Dodgers play on TV.

He was in the Bishopric, served as a high priest teacher and he enjoyed serving with Annita as ward temple coordinators. They loved hosting youth groups at their ranch.

Survivors include one daughter and three sons: Connie Jensen of Mesquite, NV; Boyd (Penny) of Bunkerville, NV; Bradley of Mesquite, NV; Curtis (Tanisha) of Cedar City, UT; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one sister, Faye (Al) Thompson of Orem, UT. He was preceded in death by one son, Don; sister, Colleen Reber and one brother, Gerald.

A public graveside service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Bunkerville Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
