Jade Leanne Johnston, 32, passed away on May 12, 2021 in Las Vegas, NV. Jade was born on August 31, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV to James Johnston and Launa Leanne Lane. Jade was raised in Moapa Valley, and attended MVHS. She was very involved in athletics and played basketball and softball. After high school, Jade attended a cosmetology school in Las Vegas. She worked as a Tribal Moniter at the Moapa Band of Paiutes, helping with the efforts to conserve the local tortoise population and the search of tribal artifacts in the area. She grew up dancing at Pow Wows and learning more of her history and culture. Jade was funny, feisty and fearless. She loved her son, Liam, and would cook with him, make crafts, and go on hikes together. She was a caring mother and daughter.
Jade is survived by her son, Liam Lee Olegario; her fiancé, Rikky Gutierrez; her parents, James Johnston and Launa Leanne Lane; her step dad, Lyndon Casupang, her grandparents, Shirley Anderson and Ralph Lane; her siblings, Calista Casupang, Vincent Johnston, Devon Johnston, and Nichole Dulay; and a large extended family.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moapa Tribal Building in Moapa, NV, with Funeral services held from 3-5:00 p.m. followed by a Traditional Sing.
