Janice Marie (Gould) Vaifoou

Janice Marie Vaifoou, age 51, passed away from medical conditions on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her home in Ridgecrest, California.  Janice was born December 30, 1969 in Tulare, California, she went home with her adopted parents  Albert Sumner Gould, Jr. and Ella Marie Kurtz Gould.
 

Janice had a happy, active childhood growing up in Ridgecrest where she attended school and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She participated in a variety of school, church and extra activities including; playing the piano, ballet, gymnastics, volleyball, and horseback riding.  As a child, she celebrated every birthday at Disneyland - one of her favorite places.  She also enjoyed traveling to Maine to stay in her family’s cottage on the coast.
 

As an adult, Janice developed her artistic talents and would often spend her days sleeping and her nights working on various paintings and crafts.  She loved sunflowers and would frequently incorporate them into her creations.
Despite her disabilities and struggles, Janice strived to improve her life and surroundings.  She befriended many and had an infectious laugh.  She had a profound love for animals, always considering her pets as her children.
 
Janice is survived by her mother,  Ella Marie Kurtz Gould,  of Washington, UT. 
She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Sumner Gould, Jr.. and her brother Albert “Chip” Sumner Gould III.  Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with her loved ones.
 

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 in the Mesquite City Cemetery, 301 Hillside Drive, Mesquite, NV.  Friends and family are invited to sign their online guest book at virginvalleymortuary.com.
