Jeanne (Mallon) Crayton

Jeanne Elizabeth (Mallon) Crayton, 82, passed away on January 14, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV. Jeanne was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on September 25, 1940 to Norman and Betty (Cates) Mallon. She was raised with five brothers. She graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart High School in St. Joseph and attended Duchesne College in Omaha Nebraska. She moved to Anaheim, California where she met William Francis Crayton III on St. Patrick’s Day. They were married on January 27, 1962 and raised their three children together. In St. Joseph she worked for Southwestern Bell and for Phil-Up Ice Cream. After the family moved to Nevada, she worked with the Clark Co. School District as a Security Dispatch Operator, and later worked as an office aide, and accommodated many roles as the librarian, substitute teacher, hall monitor, and lunch lady in Las Vegas, NV and later at Moapa Valley High School in Overton, NV. 

Everywhere Jeanne lived, she would grow beautiful gardens. As she and Bill retired, they traveled all around the world. She had immense faith and was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. (Bill) Crayton III in 2004.

Jeanne is survived by her children, William F. (Willy) Crayton IV , Audrey Morales, and Julia (Franco) Velasquez; her seven grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; and her brothers, John (Kay), David (Karen), Paul (Linda), James (Sandy) and Mark (Janice). 

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Overton Nevada on February 4th, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
