Kenneth J. Anderson

Kenneth Jesse Anderson, 83, passed away on February 2nd, 2021. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jesse Christian Anderson and Fern Viola Barrett. Kenneth married Thelma Merlene Christensen Anderson Tanner on April 27th, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the proud parents of six daughters. Later divorced. He married Jenny Blea Anderson on March 5th, 1982, and they were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. 

Kenneth was raised in Salt Lake City, went to Weber State University, and served in the United States Navy for six years. Throughout his life, he had the opportunity to travel abroad, and live in both Maryland and Southern California. Kenneth was a wonderful oil painter who loved experimenting with new art mediums. He enjoyed gardening, a good pun, long walks, classical and folk music. Kenneth was a compassionate man, with a particular soft spot for animals and caring for the odd rabbit or bird that would frequent his yard.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served three missions, and was a veil worker at the Salt Lake Temple. 

He is survived by his wife, Jenny, and daughters Robin, Kathy, Sandra, Mindy, and Amanda, as well as his siblings Elvona and Ron, and a loving group of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Robert, and daughters Kristy and Wendie.

A viewing will be held Saturday, February 6th, 1:00 pm, at 320 E Old Mill Road, Mesquite, NV under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, 702-346-6060.
