Michael Raymond Geary

Michael Raymond Geary, 77, passed away on March 18, 2021 in his home in Overton, NV. Michael was born on June 29, 1943 in Bridgeville, PA to Michael Regis Geary and Ann Mary Mullen. After graduating from high school, Michael joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV and served for four years. While stationed in Nellis, he met Pamela Rae Gubser as she worked in Base Supply, and was so attracted that he tracked her down to ask for a date. They were later married on the base on July 31, 1964. After a honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked for a time at ThriftyMart and then went to the academy to be a police officer. He worked for several years as a Deputy Sheriff, then transferred to be a TAC Officer at the academy. In 1976, he joined the Detective Bureau and worked in all departments, mostly in homicide until his retirement in 1993. He was well loved, and many knew him as “Pooh Bear” or “Pops”. He spent much of his time teaching others and showing his support for his sons and his grandchildren. He loved to take his family on hunting and fishing trips through Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon. He loved to play Poker and Bingo with his wife Pamela. Beneath a gruff demeanor, Mikey was known for his heart of gold. He was loved by all.

Michael is survived by his wife, Pamela Rae Geary; his sons, Michael Jr. (Joddie) and Patrick (Teresa); his grandchildren, Jasmin, Zach, Kourtni, Braden, Taylor, Haley, Logan, and Kyle; many grandpuppies; his sister, Sally Pajak, and a huge extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Margaret, Frances, and Betty.
