Paul Kiskis Obituary

Paul Christopher Kiskis, age 56, passed from this life to the arms of his Savior on Monday, April 5, 2022, at his home in Littlefield, Arizona.  He was born December 26, 1965, in Albany, New York to Daniel and Joyce Kiskis.  On March 24, 2020, he married his longtime companion Julie Anne Neilson in Farmington, New Mexico.

Paul graduated from class of 1984 at Ithaca High School, Ithaca, NY where he also became an Eagle Scout.  In 1985, he enlisted in the US Army and served in Ft. Bragg.  After discharge, he moved to Salt Lake City, UT where he drove over-the-road trucks for several years. In 1990, he enlisted in the Army Reserves with some friends and was subsequently called up to active duty with the 419th Transportation Unit in Salt Lake and sent to serve in Desert Storm.  While in Kuwait and Iraq, he was a Helicopter Crew Chief and a utility helicopter  mechanic.  Paul and his unit were motor transport operators, driving fuel trucks to support the ground troops in Iraq. He was very proud of his service to his country.

Although Colorado and Utah were his primary areas for residence,  he never lived too long in one place. He enjoyed the adventure of exploring new parts of the country and of making new friends. Eighteen months ago, he settled in Littlefield, AZ creating what he called an oasis.

Paul always loved going fast.  He enjoyed racing cars, motorcycles, ATV’s and “Jeepin”.  He built his career on selling motor sports, where he could talk about the things he loved.  He loved the outdoors, “hounding” for rocks, 4-wheeling and exploring the desert.  He had such big stature and when he walked into any room his presence was felt.  He will be remembered as a kind and loving man, who was thoughtful in the details.

Paul is survived by his beloved family, to include his wife, Julie Kiskis of Littlefield, AZ; 5 stepchildren, 1 step grandchild; parents: Daniel and Joyce Kiskis of Fort Collins, CO; two sisters, Patti Frelund and Pamela [Lane] Everitt; nieces Kristin and Hannah Frelund; nephew Ryan Bantham; Aunt Joan [Carl] Hilston as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Preceded in death by grandparents, James & Genevieve Kiskis, Roger & Rita Remillard; uncles Roger & Robert Remillard.
