Paula Ann Simmons

    Paula Ann Simmons, age 80, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at her home in Overton, Nevada surrounded by family members.  She was born September 5, 1943 in Las Vegas to Paul Douglas and Loma Barnum (later Arnold) Harmon.  On November 2, 1962 she married Charles Vay “Charlie” Simmons in N. Las Vegas.  They were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple.  
    Paula grew up all over the United States as her father was in the military.  She raised her family in Overton.  She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking bread, quilting and raising her children.  She was instrumental in starting a youth group for girls called the “Campfire Girls”.  She enjoyed serving in the church, especially in the primary.  She loved camping and hiking, riding ATVs and exploring the desert with her family.  She was a big country music fan and loved watching Westerns.  
    Survivors include her husband, Charlie of Overton; three sons and one daughter: Rick (DonnieAnn) of Overton; Teresa (Rolf) Bundy of Las Vegas; David (Amy) and Brian (Teekay) both of Overton; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three sisters: Bobbie Traughber of Ridgecrest, CA; Pam Christie and Donna Pence both of Pahrump, NV. 
    Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Overton, Chapel, 226 W. Thomas Street, Overton, NV.  Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.  Interment will follow in the Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
