Tamara Yturiaga-Stanton Obituary

Tamara “Tammy” Kay Yturiaga-Stanton was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world suddenly on Saturday, March 27, 2021.She was born in Pioche Nevada on June 14, 1952.

Tammy loved her childhood and growing up on the family ranch and attending a local catholic school until the age of 8 when she, her mother and brother moved to California. After graduating from high school at Thomas Downey High School in Modesto, Tammy began her life and family. Together, she and her first husband had two children.

Tammy was known for her great hospitality, contagious laughter and love for her family. She was always known for reaching out to check in with not only her children and grandchildren but siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. It is said that Tammy could make a friend no matter where she was or what she was doing. Her heart was bigger than she and it showed in her actions, her kind words and generosity.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, James Stanton of Mesquite, Nevada, her 2 children Heidi Hollander- Matlock of Sonora California, and Steven Hollander and his wife; Kaleena of Modesto, California, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She also leaves behind, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 9 nieces and nephews and their children. She is preceded in death by her mother; Mable Steward  and father; Ervol Yturiaga.

Tammy will be honored at a celebration of life service on May 15, 2021 at the Old Fishermans’ Club in Modesto, California at 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID-19, all public health precautions will be followed.
