Vernice Ombra Roberts

Vernice Ombra Roberts, age 99, died Thursday, July 1, 2021 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada.  She was born February 19, 1922 in Indiana to Jess and Echo Anderson Beam.  On November 3, 1946 she married Wallace Elwyn Roberts in Peru, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on June 21, 2005.
Vernice grew up in Indiana.  During WWII she joined the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii.  She met her husband there as they both served during the war.  They raised their family in Southern California until moving to Kanab, Utah in 1978.  There she worked as a real estate agent and built the Heritage Center.  She loved working with people and serving in the community.  She enjoyed quilting and time with family.  
Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Fink of Mesquite, NV; son, Gary (Lyla) of Kanab, UT; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
