Yvonne Rae (Linde) Hughes

Yvonne Rae Hughes, age 86, passed away on May 10, 2021 at her home in Mesquite Nevada. She was born May 8, 1935 in Bellingham, Washington to Bro Henry Linde and Rachel Maude Lay.

She grew up in Bellingham and met Elmer Hughes for the first time while he was on his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They later met again at Dixie College in St. George Utah.  She married Elmer Esmond Hughes in the St. George Temple June 2, 1956. They settled in Las Vegas Nevada for a number of years and then moved to Mesquite Nevada in 1980.  She loved Music (especially the Hymns) she played the piano; she served in many church callings and was a great visiting teacher. She worked at the Chalet Café helping in the back and making sure they had everything they needed. She was a member of the Daughters of The  Utah Pioneers, and she loved being a grandmother. 

She is survived by her children:  Linda (David) Leavitt of Bunkerville, NV;  RayLynn (Ed) Hanna of St. George Utah; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hughes, her brother Douglas Linde and sister in law Marilyn Linde.

Graveside services will be held Thursday May 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Mesquite Cemetery, 301 Hillside Dr., Mesquite, NV. Viewing  from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Virgin Valley Mortuary.  The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
