I was a student at the U from 1989 until graduation in 1991, thousands of miles from home and driving a beat up Ford Granada with some serious problems. Kent repaired my car at cost more than once because he knew I was in trouble without it and wanted to help a veteran. His kindness made such an impression on me that even now, more than 27 years later, I still remember and admire him. He was a good and honest man, and I'm sure there are many others like me who may never find this obituary but still were touched by his goodness. Rest in Peace, Kent, and may God bless his family.

Even though we were neighbors for a very brief time (2017) we immediately fell in love with this wonderful, kind, caring and sharing individual. Always eager to help and to follow the progress on our house remodel. What a great guy. There is a void in our neighborhood since Kent passed. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. Kent was a wonderful man. He was kind and thoughtful, hard-working and honest. We met him in January 1972 when Cathy and I first arrived in Salt Lake City. He repaired our cars many times over the years at Kent's Conoco. He even came to our house a few times when our cars would not start. I would always come to his station to get gas -- and also to say Hi. Kent was a good and decent man. I am sad to know that he has passed away. He is missed.

My dear friend Kent,
I am so saddened to learn of your passing today. And especially so after just speaking with you last month. You are a GREAT friend, and I will truly miss you. Having been good buds since high school, and with all the great times we spent together, will be memories that I will always cherish. May you rest in peace.
